This is Marty. We rescued him via PetFinder.com . He's a Black Lab/Boykin Spanial mix and he has a great personality. He'll be one in September of 2009 and we got him when he was about 9 months old. I can't tell you how many people have told us they think he is the perfect dog and want one just like him. This is mainly because he's super friendly, doesn't bark and can be mellow for hours at a time when he's with people. He's also extremely affectionate and tolerant with toddlers. Now, he is still a puppy and he has Lab in him, so if you leave him alone and under stimulated, he's likely to pass the time by chewing on a food processor, shoes or wood trim. So he started jogging with me a few miles in the mornings before work to knock him out and that has done the trick. He still has a few missteps.
